Archaeological & Architectural Impact Assessment

archeological and architectural impact assessment

Some protected structures or buildings within an Architectural Conservation Area (ACA) are also listed in the Record of Monuments and Places and therefore a combined assessment is required in order to assess the archaeological and earlier historical nature of the building. Therefore it may be necessary for a developer to undertake a combined Archaeological & Architectural Heritage Impact Assessment in order to satisfy the planning requirements of the Authorities.

We undertake this type of combined assessment where there is a double designation of Recorded Monument and Protected Structure/ACA. A number of structures are listed monuments and protected buildings, meaning that they are afforded statutory protection under the provisions of the National Monuments Acts (1930-2014) and the Local Planning & Development Acts (2000-2015).
