Excavation

The results of archaeological testing or monitoring can sometimes uncover sub-surface archaeological deposits or features. This can give rise to an excavation whereby the archaeology is preserved by record as all features are dug out by hand and a written and photographic record is kept of each deposit and cut-feature.
